Legendary Jazz Guitarist George Barnes
On leaving the army after World War 2, jazz guitarist George Barnes returned to a life which became one of the busiest in jazz history. In 1951 he started working on his first collection book of jazz guitar tabs and moved from Chicago to New York. Here his exceptional musical ability won him a contract with Decca Records as guitarist, composer and arranger. Because of his multiple talents Barnes was much in demand over the years as a backing guitarist for top singers and jazz artists including Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong.
